Mickael Mahabot is committed to making mickaelmahabot.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement explains the measures we take and the standards we follow.

1. Commitment

We believe that access to information is a right, not a feature. We design and maintain this site with accessibility in mind from the outset, not as an afterthought.

2. Standards

This site aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

3. Measures taken

  • Platform — This site is built on Wix, which provides built-in accessibility infrastructure including semantic HTML, keyboard navigation support, and ARIA landmarks.

  • Navigation — The site is navigable by keyboard alone. Focus indicators are visible.

  • Text — Content is written in plain language. Font sizes can be adjusted using browser settings.

  • Images — Decorative images use empty alt text; informational images include descriptive alt text.

  • Color — Text maintains a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background, in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA.

  • Forms — The contact form includes labels, instructions, and error messaging accessible to screen readers.

  • Language — The site is available in English and French, with proper lang attributes on each page.

  • Responsive design — The site adapts to mobile, tablet, and desktop screens.

4. Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas may not yet be fully accessible:

 

  • Some third-party embedded content (if any) may not meet the same accessibility standards as the rest of the site.

  • Older articles published before this statement may contain formatting that is not fully optimized for screen readers.

  • Video or audio content, if added in the future, may not always include captions or transcripts at publication. We will add them as soon as possible.

5. Compatibility with assistive technology

This site is designed to be compatible with commonly used assistive technologies, including screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), screen magnifiers, and voice recognition software. We test on major browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
